Women’s health is an area of medicine that centres around health issues specifically related to women. Although there is usually an emphasis on obstetrics, gynaecology and gynaecological problems, women’s health related issues can range from problems concerning menstruation, maternal health and child birth, to menopause and female predominated cancers, such as breast cancer and ovarian cancer.
As female medical practitioners, we at Dr CG Du Plessis & Partners have a special concern for women’s health. We recognise that men and women are fundamentally different, not only in terms of anatomy.
Studies have shown considerable differences between men and women with regards to their susceptibility, symptoms and response to treatment in many sections of health, including heart disease and some particular cancers.
We believe that as women we have unique needs and requirements, both physically and emotionally. For this reason, we strive to provide an individualised approach to women’s health.

Further tests may be ordered by our medical doctors to ensure the general health of women and include the following:

Mammogram if over 35 years, repeat every 5 years.
